Pathfinder-generated query plan for Query Q8 from the XMark benchmark.

The Research Team

Three European sites are the driving forces behind the Pathfinder and MonetDB/XQuery projects. The Pathfinder XQuery compiler is designed and developed by the Database Research Group at the Technische Universität München. The MonetDB extensible relational database kernel, the back-end of the MonetDB/XQuery system has been developed at the Database Architectures and Information Access Group at the Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica (CWI), Amsterdem (The Netherlands). Among other bits and pieces, the good folks at the Database Group at the University of Twente (The Netherlands) contributed substantially to the design of highly-efficient XPath evaluation algorithms.
